
Huang Weimin, Academic Leader of the Department of Spinal and Joint Surgery, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital. He holds the professional titles of Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Master of Medicine, and Master’s Supervisor.
He graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Xinjiang Medical University in 1994. From 1994 to October 2018, he worked in the Department of Spinal Surgery at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, successively serving as Resident Physician, Attending Physician, Associate Chief Physician and Chief Physician. He received advanced spinal surgery training at West China Hospital and Xiangya Hospital. He obtained his Master’s degree in Orthopedic Surgery from Xinjiang Medical University in 2006 and pursued his doctoral degree in Orthopedics at Xiangya Hospital, Central South University in 2010. He has been working at Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital since October 2018.
With 28 years of specialized clinical experience in spinal surgery, he has independently performed thousands of spinal surgeries. He keeps abreast of cutting-edge developments in spinal surgery and has in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of neck, shoulder, lumbago and leg pain. He specializes in surgical treatment and injection therapy for spinal disorders.
He is proficient in the indications, anatomical structures and surgical procedures of anterior and posterior surgeries for cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spine. His surgical expertise includes anterior cervical surgeries (ACDF, ADDF), posterior cervical surgeries (single laminoplasty, lateral mass screw fixation, pedicle screw fixation, suture anchor fixation), anterior and posterior thoracolumbar surgeries (transthoracic and extrapleural thoracic surgery, posterior thoracic surgery, anterior and posterior lumbar surgery), as well as spinal deformity correction for scoliosis, tuberculous kyphosis and ankylosing kyphosis.
He has made multiple surgical innovations, including optimizing the decompression range for lumbar disc herniation, minimally invasive modification of the anterior thoracolumbar surgical approach, and improving the fixation technique for posterior cervical single laminoplasty. He continuously explores advanced therapeutic methods to alleviate patients’ pain and improve their quality of life.
He has supervised and graduated 10 master students. He has presided over and guided 6 Natural Science Foundation projects of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and 1 Urumqi municipal scientific research project. He has published 66 professional papers in core journals, authored 4 monographs, served as associate editor for 11 books, and contributed to 14 compiled medical works.
He currently serves as a member of the Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Salt Disease Committee of Shenzhen Medical Association and a standing committee member of the Spinal Surgery Committee of Longhua District Medical Association.
