Department of Spine and Joint Surgery, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital

The Department of Spine and Joint Surgery is a Key Discipline of the hospital, a Member of the Medical Quality Control Center of the Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, a Member Unit of the Spinal Minimally Invasive Treatment Center of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and a Standing Director Unit of the Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou Bone Tumor Treatment Alliance.

Equipped with advanced medical devices and patient-centered service concepts, the department has a medical and nursing team of 27 members, including 1 Doctor of Medicine, 5 Masters of Medicine, 1 Master's Supervisor, and 6 staff with senior professional titles. It has achieved outstanding results in clinical practice, teaching and scientific research in recent years.

The department boasts solid and comprehensive technical strength. It has successfully performed surgeries for cervical spondylosis, thoracolumbar spinal stenosis, spinal tuberculosis, spinal tumors and spinal fractures, as well as total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA).

In terms of minimally invasive treatment, it was the first in Longhua District to carry out percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) for lumbar disc herniation. It also performs arthroscopic surgery for rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement syndrome, recurrent shoulder dislocation, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament injuries of the knee joint, and meniscal tears. In addition, the department performs surgery for complex pelvic fractures and complex extremity and intra-articular fractures, and completed the first 3D printing-assisted surgical treatment for pelvic fracture in Shenzhen.

The department performs nearly 1,000 surgical procedures annually, and has developed into a specialized treatment center featured by spinal endoscopic surgery and arthroscopic surgery.
