Department of Stomatology, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital

The Department of Stomatology is equipped with 25 dental chairs, with annual outpatient visits exceeding 55,000 person-times. It has a total of 50 medical and nursing staff, including 28 dentists and 22 nursing personnel, among whom there are 1 doctoral degree holder, 9 master’s degree holders and 6 senior professional title holders.

The department is furnished with 25 sets of American A-dec dental treatment chairs, as well as advanced equipment including Dentsply root canal therapy unit, warm gutta-percha obturation system, periodontal therapy device, oral surgical microscope, digital dental radiography system, American Newtom Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), German CEREC CAD/CAM chairside restoration system, ultrasonic bone scalpel, and Swiss Straumann implant system. In recent years, the department has further introduced cutting-edge devices such as digital intraoral scanner, Invisalign scanner, electronic face bow and 3D resin printer.

Treatment Services

1.Oral Health Care and Pediatric Dental Disease Prevention & Treatment

Comprehensive oral examination, pediatric dental fluoridation, treatment of pulpitis and periapical periodontitis of primary teeth, and restoration of primary tooth defects.

2.Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic Treatment

Filling and restoration for dental caries and non-carious tooth defects; diagnosis and treatment of pulp and periapical diseases; microscopic root canal therapy; management of various dental traumas and cosmetic restoration of teeth.

3.Oral and Maxillofacial Outpatient Surgery

Various tooth extraction procedures including removal of complicated impacted teeth, embedded teeth and supernumerary teeth, as well as minimally invasive tooth extraction with ultrasonic bone scalpel; extraction socket preservation; excision of oral and maxillofacial masses and cysts; diagnosis and treatment of maxillofacial trauma and infection; diagnosis, reduction and internal fixation of jaw fractures.

4.Prosthodontic Treatment

Restoration with various removable dentures; fixed prosthodontic restoration such as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and bridges, all-ceramic crowns and porcelain veneers; CAD/CAM chairside restoration; complete and partial arch rehabilitation with BPS suction dentures.

5.Standardized Orthodontic Treatment

Early intervention for pediatric dental malocclusion; correction of various dental and dentofacial malocclusions in children and adults; invisible orthodontic treatment; specialist consultation for complex and refractory malocclusion cases.

6.Dental Implantation and Restoration

Implant restoration for single, multiple, partial and full edentulous jaws; immediate implantation and early implantation; digital navigation and surgical template guided implantation; various bone augmentation procedures for dental implantation.

7.Periodontal Treatment

Full-mouth scaling, subgingival scaling and root planing, periodontal flap surgery, and periodontal guided tissue regeneration surgery.
