Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital
The Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery consists of three subspecialties: Burns, Wound Repair, and Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, as well as the Clinical Translational Medicine Laboratory for Wound Repair and Scar Prevention and Treatment. It is accredited as a Key Medical Discipline of Longhua District.
The department has a medical and nursing team of 27 members, including 3 doctoral degree holders, 1 postdoctoral fellow, 3 Chief Physicians, 2 Master's Supervisors, and 2 full-time researchers.
The department provides standardized diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for patients with various types of burns and scalds, deformities requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery, craniomaxillofacial disorders, various skin and soft tissue defects, chronic refractory wounds (including diabetic foot and pressure ulcers), and pathological scars. In recent years, its annual outpatient volume and inpatient discharge volume have ranked among the top of similar specialties in Shenzhen.
In the past 5 years, the team has led 1 project funded by the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, 1 project from the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, 1 project from the Guangdong Medical Association, and 5 municipal and bureau-level projects. It has trained 10 master's degree postgraduate students, compiled 1 textbook published by the People's Medical Publishing House (PMPH) as the chief editor, and published 29 academic papers, among which 9 are indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI). The team has applied for 8 patents, 6 of which have been officially granted.
