Department of Thoracic Surgery, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital

The Department of Thoracic Surgery is one of the characteristic specialties of Longhua District, and a key developing department of Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital.

The department has 5 physicians, including 3 with postgraduate degrees and 2 with bachelor's degrees; the medical team consists of 1 Associate Chief Physician, 2 Attending Physicians, and 2 Resident Physicians. The nursing team comprises 10 members, all with bachelor's degrees, including 1 Associate Chief Nurse, 5 Chief Nurse Supervisors, and 4 Nurse Practitioners.

At present, the department performs a wide range of sophisticated and advanced minimally invasive surgeries. The scope of procedures includes general thoracic minimally invasive surgery (thoracoscopic radical resection of lung cancer, radical resection of esophageal cancer, resection of mediastinal tumors, NUSS procedure for pectus excavatum, surgical management of cardiothoracic trauma, pneumothorax, rib fractures, and palmar hyperhidrosis, etc.), as well as complex cardiac surgeries and minimally invasive vascular procedures. The department is equipped with advanced medical devices including thoracoscopy systems and Harmonic Scalpel.

Under the leadership of Director Liu Jianmin, the department has successfully completed a variety of high-difficulty, high-risk cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries with satisfactory therapeutic outcomes, which have earned wide trust and high praise from the majority of patients.
