Department of Oncology, Shenzhen Longhua District Central Hospital

Founded in November 2013, the Department of Oncology has been accredited as the Standardized Cancer Pain Management Demonstration Ward of Guangdong Province (2016), Designated Unit for Early Cancer Screening of Guangdong Province (2017), Member Unit of the Multidisciplinary Tumor Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment Specialty Alliance of Shenzhen Health Management Association (2018), Key Medical Discipline Under Construction of Longhua District, Shenzhen (2018), and Grassroots Sub-center for Pulmonary Nodule Diagnosis and Treatment of China Lung Cancer Prevention and Treatment Alliance (2019). In recent years, it has won multiple honorary titles including Shenzhen Women Civilization Post, Longhua District Advanced Nursing Team, Longhua District Women Civilization Post, and Longhua District Harmonious Doctor-Patient Team.

The department has 35 authorized inpatient beds, with four subspecialties: Thoracic Oncology (Lung Cancer), Breast Oncology, Gastrointestinal Oncology, and Hospice & Palliative Care. It consists of general ward, hospice care ward, daytime chemotherapy ward, oncology specialty outpatient clinic, and PICC & Implantable Venous Access Port (IVAP) Nursing Clinic. It records an annual inpatient discharge of approximately 1,500 person-times and an annual outpatient volume of about 5,000 person-times.

The department provides consultation, standardized diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for solid tumors of all body systems. It delivers a full spectrum of oncology services, including chemotherapy (neoadjuvant chemotherapy, postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, palliative chemotherapy, and metronomic chemotherapy), targeted therapy, biological therapy, immunotherapy, cancer pain management, palliative medicine (hospice care), interventional embolization, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). It independently performs IVAP implantation, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement, microinfusion chemotherapy pump implantation, and image-guided percutaneous puncture and biopsy for various nodules.
